Another problem, Misfire

Post by Karl_h »

Ok so after getting the chain and sprockets sorted and finding where my clutch had decided to venture off to, I fired the bike to let it warm up.

I've read the other misfire threads but nothing is similar to the problem I've got.

Bike fired up fine but ran like a total bag of nails, eventually cleared so I'll put that down to fuel being sat in the tank since September.
Give the bike the bike a bit of a rev and it'll do a couple of different things.

1) From idle it has just died several times when giving a blip, just stutter then die.

2) If gentle with the throttle from Idle it will rev normally but will stutter at different rev points. Seems to run fine when past the stutter.

Any clues as to what to look for? Ran fine last time it was out.

Cheers

Karl

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

sounds to me like water in the fuel....
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Refilled with brand new fuel today, It does have some ProFi Carb Cleaner in it which I put down to making the initial rough running as bad as it was?
I'll have to take it out and hope it clears.
Argh bloody thing is driving me round the twist today!

Just drain out the old fuel, fill with new stuff and enjoy.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
