Done my cct's today (chuffed to f*ck) followed instructions to the letter started bike up and it sounds and seems to run much better, the lock off key i made works so if anyone wants it to do there's they are more than welcome to it, 1st come 1st served of course.
many thanks to everyone who offered advice and especially to ROAS for excellent quality products.
also i checked the r/r and it has a finned type one on it so i think my worries are sorted.
98% of all Harleys ever sold are still on the road. The other 2% made it home
just finished mine today, furthest I have ever ventured into a bike engine and was amazed how easy it was with the instructions provided, also a thanks to lloydcbr who posted some pics on the the 'what have you done to your storm today' thread as that gave me the confidence to carry on after taking the airbox off!
sounds like the engine is quieter than before and the new spark plugs shot it into life a lot quicker!
just out of interest.....if the ccts are too tight or too slack what damage can be caused? cant here a prominent rattle or whine so im sure its ok just being paranoid!
Honda Britain 50th anniversary storm (26 of 50)
Carbon Hugger
Carbon undertray
Carbon LED indicators
Clear LED rear light
Shark Skinz Bellypan
Harris RearSets
Ohlins Steering Damper
Proflex suspension
Remus high level carbon cans/micron stubbys
You're just being paranoid, it's fine.
If it starts sounding a bit rattly then try tweaking up one or the other until the noise goes away.
If you're not sure what "a bit rattly" sounds like, gently unscrew one (rear's easiest) until it sounds a bit rattly- half or one complete turn on the adjuster usually does it.
Then you'll know what to listen for.
And then adjust it back to where it was, and stop playing.
I'm not telling you what damage either too slack or too tight can cause, as you'll just get more paranoid.
But it's fine, just bloody ride it.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Glad to here ur sorted Alec, got to get my own rr sorted, going for a r6 one as I'v been told its easy to fit and does a good job of keeping things cool. Fitted a set of vfr bars last weekend and the difference is fu**in great, only snag is bar weights wont fit, I will have to make a mod so i can fit them
