braking query

Post by byebyebandit »

hi, i wondered if anyone could help?

my 2000 storm has developed abit of a judder from the front end under braking. i only notice it when pulling up to stop and dont think it does it at higher speed.

does this just sound like new pads and fluid is needed or do i need to get the spanners out?

thanks

I had the same problem last month.

New set of EBC HH pads , problem sorted

If your brake fluid on the Reservoir looks dark/black it needs changing as well.

Ohh.. I would of said that maybe the discs are warped by your post, hopefully I'm wrong on that one. Let us know what the result is if you replace the pads.

fork set up

I would look at your fork set up before buying disks... (If you changed the set up recently this is your problem). I'm sorry but I cannot tell you how to fix it
Maybe someone else has suggestions?

judder now gone

I used to own an old ZZR which ate front disks so I know a warp when I feel it.

I put some cheap ones on my VTR and thought it was warped disks. Didnt get worse though and when I changed to better H style disks the judder went away.
red is the fastest colour;)

Judder

Mines done that for quite a while now. Think it must be on of the discs slightly out but have got used to it now and I do use quite a lot of rear brake anyway, unless i really have to haul it down pdq, so don't really notice.
