Indicator speed???

Post by Anotherbikerbabe »

Hi guys n gals

One Q I have for you techie lot...: Does anyone know what the actual normal speed of the indicators on the Storm? :?: The reason I ask is my MOT is due on Friday and last year when Dave put my new mirrors on with built in indi's,they flash a bit quicker, not that it bothers me at all, but just in the back of my mind that it may not be the 'norm' and would hate to be failed on something so trivial...I have micro ones on the front, along with the mirrored ones, and because it is all on the same flasher relay, the back and front work on same speed...I've Read the manual etc.

Any thoughts? Do they have to flash at least once per second? Any feedback appreciated

As long as they flash between 60 - 120 times per minute it should be ok, thats what i was told on another forum.

Thanks Alec.Dave has gone out to time it. He rang an ex Mot inspector and even he wasn't sure!!! Dave will prob alter the indicators, take it down, bring it back and put it as is...He's dead handy at all things bike, he just can't find any info on what the speed should be!

You could change the relay to one that can cope with it, i fitted a 2 pin 12 volt relay on mine whilst waiting for the proper one to arrive and they flashed slower with that,

As a quick fix wire any spare indicator bulb in parallel with each side and tuck it away in the tail section.
Can't be see but will increase the resistance to near standard.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
