plate light question

Post by snipper »

whats the law on number plate lights ?

i fitted an r & g tail tidy at the weekend and due to a flat battery couldnt test it till tonight ...... pi$$ poor light

better of taping a glow worm on the back

all you can see is a very small white light and in no way can read the plate ( not a bad thing i suppose :) )

emailed R & G tonight to see if this is normal or a duff light

funny one this, if your riding at night you number plate must be lit by law, but for an MOT you dont need one!

I should think if the light is on thats good enough. Never heard of anybody being done for a poor light. :biggrin

It's a "construction and use" offence and not a "moving traffic" offence. So very unlikely to attract a ticket more likely words of advice or possibly a VDRS
I was born with nothing and I still have most of it left.
