Bypassing Choke

Post by Karl_h »

It doesn't rain it pours!!! The bolt that screws in to the carb has sheared, while I was putting everything back together, is it possible to bolt the plunger in place until I can get my hands on a new cable assembly?

Cheers.

One of my plastic fastneners sheared off too and they aren't sold separately. I made up a replacement using some 10mm threaded rod which I drilled on the drill press and filed accordingly. Bit of a kerfuffle but I resented paying £40 for a choke kit when I only need a 10p plastic fitting!

The assembly is sprung so the choke is normally "off", so taping the plunger in will just mean the choke won't work on that carb.
Two bikes, still only four cylinders!

Ideal thanks stratman, I did see your post and am keeping that in mind for a permanent solution currently watching a few bits on eBay so hoping I can get a cheap replacement that way first. The bike is doing my head in with poor quality fixings at the minute. I agree 40 for the kit is a joke!
Cheers
