Post by budd »

I may sound a stupid question but what are the benefits of stainless steel v cast iron when choosing brake discs?? And which material is used for OE??
I've now gone all European and bought a KTM Superduke GT and Aprilia RSV1000R :D ,
Storm is now gone  .

oe is stainless.
cast iron offer better grip but rust like buggery.
i have cast discs on the kwak & they rust overnight

just stay away from cheapo chinese discs as they warp like crouton
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Some "stainless" discs are cast iron with a coating which prevents rusting.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
