Wheels

Post by Tat_Man »

Has anyone ever tried a 16" front off an early Fireblade on their Firestorm.
What with all these folks running spacers under the rear shock to aid 'turn in' , wouldn't a 16" wheel do just that.
Is it a good idea?, i am interested in peoples opinions on this.

i rode my brothers blade with the 16" front wheel and always felt like you really had to throw your weight into it to get it to lean when he did the 17" conversion on it, it handled a lot better leaned over easier and you have a massively wider choice of tyres.

weather or not it would improve the storm i dont know.

i also had the 16" front on the blade it did turn in better faster and all that but you cant ind good rubber for the 16" front
if your bike aint set up correctly the 16" front will make it feel realy hard to turn in .

Worked fine on early Hornets, though, no probs with turn-in or handling, Michelin rubber worked fine when I had one- put 30K on it in 18 months.
They're cheap enough, because everyone wants the 17" ones.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
