Eclectic, so what did the garage do exactly :?: just balance the carbs by the sounds of it. Did they not check the air filter as I suggested, to see if it's an after market item?

You could check to make sure someone has not forgotten to plug the TPS (throttle position sensor) back in. That's a plug with wires attached to it that connects to a socket mounted at the side of the carbs. It is located on the righthand side of the bike (throttle side). Worth a look I'd say.

Well, I forgot to mention that I checked the Air filter myself nite before it went in. Its definetly the stock unit, had some grass cuttings and bugs in. Need to replace that!

Smiffy's Superbikes is where she went, all he did was clean and "set up" the carbs, and used a sh1t load of WD40 for some reason, the old girl stunk of it and it was litterally everywhere inaround the lower areas, dirty oil mess on the frame too.
I just got back from a 100 mile bimble along a lovely route I found on some forums catering to my local area. Excellent route and enjoyed it, the bike pretty much went well around all of it. Enjoying the firmer rear, but still not extremely confident on the front. That could the the BT014's though, but I digress...

The TPS, Ill check that when I go out shortly to clean all the bugs off.

Im wondering if it IS this idle jet blocked malarky. At idle she hunts a bit:

Now, I can build a sweet PC, and even make you a headstone. But this mechanic lot is a wee bit daunting. Any tips on where I should begin checking the idle jet.

Cheers for that link Mike. Will take a ganders.

Why not take it to the workshop day next weekend at Solihull?
We'll strip carbs and clear the jets for free, or rather you will under our supervision.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
