Bloody Ins Companies

Post by storminateacup »

Why is it that every year my renewak comes in at 50% more than last year and I have to go on the internet to get it back down again. Last year Swinton £86. This years renewal from Swinton £125. On the internet £86 WTF ? :deadhorse1:
I was born with nothing and I still have most of it left.

well ive just had my first problem with ebike....

i pay monthly by DD to take advantage of the ncb accelerator thingy, 1 yr for every 8mth cover.
last mth i had my debit card renewed and the 'worldpay' site they use would not accept my new card for some reason and declined my monthly payment for some reason.
i contacted ebike by mail & fone and offered to pay over the fone but they would not accept, saying i had to use worldpay.
so i tried again to change my card details on worldpay to no avail....
ebike then said the only way to sort it would be to cancel my policy and take out another, with the new payment details.
i explained that the only reason i used them was for the NCB and i didnt want a break in my cover as any time i'd accrued this year would be lost against my ncd entitlement....
they said this wouldnt be a problem, so i took out a new policy and was surprised that it was £15 a year cheaper than before :)
then yesterday, i got an email & snotty letter saying they had cancelled my new policy because i hadnt posted proof of NCD 8O
i mailed them back to say my details hadnt changed, the NCD was earned with them on my account and this policy is simply a renewal, so what's the problem???
they said it has to be posted to them to verify ncd entitlement.
i said how the F do i do that when you havent posted it to me... and dont you think it's gay that you send me a letter and i send it back to you, when the info is already on my account, at your fingertips.
they said yes, we can see you have NCD but we need it in writing.
so i said FFS, print it off then.
they said but we need your signature on it.
WTF FFS said i, several times, this is E insurance, not post insurance ffs :Argue 1:

so anyway, they cancelled my policy because they havent posted proof of ncd to me. how gay.
and they wanted to charge me £75 for the privilige lol :Argue 1:

monumental rock up.... thank crouton i never had to make a claim through them. :Ball Kick:

Im with them at the minute and having to do everything on the net is a right pain seeing as the whole licensing laws are done on paper. I won't be using them again. And they wont allow you to ride other bikes. How are you supposed to take a test ride on a new bike in a private sale? Absolute fiddler imo.
Never argue with idiots. They drag you down to their level then beat you with experience!

I'm also with e-bike. They can be annoying and inflexible at times and some of their marketing stuff is misleading.

However I did make a claim on them when I wrote off my last SP1 and they were pretty good, paying me what I bought the bike for a couple of years previous.

Its also a pain in the aris that they won't insure you on a bike you don't own.
She's my idea of beauty and thats what I ride.

well the saga goes on with ebike.... ive had no less that 21 emails so far requesting my licence, which i have explained to then i do not have as it was surrendered to the court.
and my no claims discount proof, which they already have.
this is all after i cancelled my policy and the direct debit.

never usually one to complain, i had no option but to report them as spam so their mails go in my spam box and send a snotty mail to customer services expressing my disgust, and also telling them i have copied their pointless emails to all the bike forums i use so other riders can see what a shower of twats theyre dealing with.

so today, i went to reinsure my bike, using the bike insurer comparison thing....

declaring my points, 3 yrs no claims, for all my bikes.... out of 26 quotes, ebike came out the worst at £481 a year.
cheapest was dial direct (chaucer) at £72.79
same excess etc.... so guess who i will be using - and guess who i will not be using!

£73???
It's worth doing the speed and getting caught to clear your license, IMHO...

Another result for you, my good man....
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
