The red one is mine, yeah its the PAIR system I didnt realise you could remove it! Thats on the to do list now

Thanks to Tony.mon and AMCQ46 for the help balancing the carbs, and AMCQ46's missus for the bacon butties! M42 was at a standstill on the way home...filtered to the front and there was nothing there whatsoever :confused

A good day, and we definately had the right weather

Cheers AMcQ, It certainly got me thinking :)

Rob, the M42 certainly rings a bell, iirc that's where we parked the car for 1/2 an hour with all the rest, on our way back from the NEC motorcycle show a few years back.

Both the M42 and M6 are well known to me for the tw@ts who move across the lanes to stop bikes filtering! Shouted at some knob in an open top jag through my helmet before :Argue 1: Had earplugs in so no idea what the idiot was shouting back at me....

Very noticable the difference in vibrations now the carbs are balanced, although the increase in idle had dramatically lowered the amount of engine braking :eek2 May cbring it down just a touch, but its nice for the bike to idle well

Cheers to all who came, we had some drop out due to work and Family pressure, [but dont worry, we will find a way to sort you out another day], and some who managed to find us even though he hadnt been given the address! ...........Boy scout tracker badge to Lloydie

Managed to get one bike sorted for valve clearances [only 2 needed done and they were on the rear pot, so that was much easier] tension the manual CCT's, balance the carbs, new filter, bleed brakes, re align all the fairing brackets, as it must have been dropped at some time in its life [I realise I didnt ask if it was OK to start hammering at your bikes front subframe :eek2 , but the end result was worth it].

One other bike got carb balance and fixed the jammed balance mech.

Many bacon rolls got eaten.........cheers to mrs McQ

then we had a ride out and tried each others bikes.....I want Tonys engine and forks, but my brakes and rear suspension.

Thanks to Tony for coming up from Kent, hope you made it back for your daughters performance and thanks for teaching all the tricks of the trade.

Thanks to shaun for the Bottle of whiskey.........Not bad considering we made you do lots of the work.

Rob, hope you didnt get beaten up when you got home late  I can now say I know a Nuclear Physicist

And good work for finding us lloydie

Didnt take too many photos but here is what I have:

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Ah, we wondered, too, but it turned out to be part of the pair system, some sort of canister....
Anyway, once correctly identified it will be done away with.......
The franchise is in safe hands.
Cheers, Alastair, and internally in your debt, also Mrs Mc Q, (although she wasn't at all interested in the engine internals I tried to show her)...
Well worth a ride up to the land of active cameras.

Does make a great day out, a good effort made by both the hosts & the attendees, esp Tony for going all that way from Kent. Except you could have made more of an effort & changed your tee shirt, you were wearing that one on the last workshop day!

Trip was no biggie, me poor old mum lives in Warwick so I kipped at her place, only cost me a meal in a posh restaurant and a bottle of mediocre Fleurie for bloody £30 a bottle....it's only a couple of hours trying not to nod off on the M40, then M25.

Was a good day, though. I have some piccies on my mobile, will post them tomorrow, the lead to connect to the pc is in work.
