Clutch bites too early

Post by geodude »

As per title. I rode the storm into work this morning and the clutch is biting about 1cm from the bar. Great for wheelies but not so much for around town and filtering.

I tried pumping the lever as this has worked in the past to no avail.

It has just had the fluids replaced as part of a service and it was fine after that. It has been sat in the garage for about a week.

Any suggestions?

check the sprocket cover casing hasnt worked loose mate, and the clutch slave cyl.
could just be air in it too
pushrod isnt pushing the plates far apart enough...

might be time for a slave seal kit.

thats the one george but try eveything else first, most likely just air or loose casing, you know how things have a habit of rattling loose on these things lol

Agree with Mr BH,
try and bleed it a bit more and see if it gets better, then that confirms air in system.
