VTR Spcialists?

VTR Spcialists?
Are there any VTR specialists in the Yorkshire area? There are half a dozen Honda dealers, but I wondered if anyone has any recommendations for looking after the 'Storm? It is due a service and MOT so I would like to know I was taking it somewhere with a decent reputation.

depends what you expect from a service mate.
if it's just oil & filters you can teach a monkey to do that.
personally i don't trust dealers at all.
if you find a good competent spannerman who doesnt rip you off you should stick with him cos they are few & far between
they will all tell you they know what theyre doing - whether they actually do is another thing

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

I'm fine with the oil and filter, it's things like getting the cct sorted, balancing the carbs or re-jetting I'll need help with. I agree that a lot of dealers employ 18 year idiots to mangle your bike, but there must be some good one's out there? No?

If go to the workshop knowledge base there are how-to's on CCT installation and carb blancing. Instead of spending £30-40 per hour on labour spend that cost instead on tools and soon you'll be self-sufficient. There's also a downloadable PDF VTR service manual in that section.

Balancing carbs is simple; if you have added the vacuum take-off point fitted. And if not that's simple to do.
Jetting- just get the bike booked into a dyno locally, ask them if they could show you readouts from some VTR's they've done previously, as the computer records all runs done.
CCt's- follow the instructions, ignore Haynes though.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Has everyone forgotten Roger Ditchfield? It's not in Yorkshire but not far away in Lancaster.

The real beauty of owning a Storm is they are easy to work on.Plan each stage of what you want to do on paper first and have all your tools and parts ready.You can get all the advice you need from this site.Beware of being roped into spending money on unnecessary tampering.The last owner of my bike paid for one hour on a dyno after just fitting new plugs and MOT.
