morning everyone happy easter
is there any way of adjusting the throttle cable since i put the vfr bars on the cable is tight against the rt fork leg when turning left just realised this morning when turning it round in my garden, the cable pulls tight and the throttle wont turn or stays on if on, or am i going to have to get a longer cable, forgot to mention i have risers on as well at the moment but dont really want to lose these as riding position is perfect for my back.
cheers all

Re: throttle cable
you could possibly try rerouting the cable to get a bit more slack but i dont think it will help tbh.
when i had vfr bars alone on mine (with a rc45 tube) it was about as tight as it would go.
sounds like you may have to fit a longer one.... not a clue which cable you'd need though... maybe one off a varadero would fit?

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.
Re: throttle cable
at the moment the throttle is routed arond the fork leg is it possibe to move it to the other side of it or does it have to go that way, cheers benny by the way.benny hedges wrote:you could possibly try rerouting the cable to get a bit more slack but i dont think it will help tbh.

Re: throttle cable
Er I could be wrong here, but there is some adjustment in the cables at the carb end I believe. I had a fiddle with mine to take up slack at the twist grip. It may give you some room to play with, weather it's enough is a different matter. With a re-route & an adjustment you may have enough.

Re: throttle cable
Several people have put Renthal bars on so I was wondering what throttle cable they used as I would imagine that they are higher still?
Two bikes, still only four cylinders!

Re: throttle cable
All sorted guys i moved the controls up the clip on 5 mm gave me loads of slack and clears the fairing perfectly, thanks to all those who gave advice, its like riding a tourer now lol but with storm torque, i can honestly say this is the best bike i've had.

Re: throttle cable
Just been out round the block to test the bike mods out and came back with the biggest grin ever, it handles so nice now and the throttle cable must have been tight for a while as now the throttle opens and it takes off up on the back wheel for over 200 yards and roundabouts are great got to get a flip screen though as now i'm more upright the wind really hits me.

Re: throttle cable
I am thinking about fitting VFR bars and was wondering if you need to cut back the fairing?

Re: throttle cable
not for the vfr bars (well i didn't) just needs to be positioned right to stop fouling on the tank and fairing, i've got vfr bars and risers at the mo so i have had to take a bit off the fairingFazermike wrote:I am thinking about fitting VFR bars and was wondering if you need to cut back the fairing?
