help. my storm has issues. misfires

Post by n1storm »

Hi can anyone help. i have a 98 storm and it has developed a misfire issue. it runs fine when first started then after about 1/2 mile to a mile it misfires then cuts out. once left for a few mins it will start again but same issue time and time again. i have had the carbs off and cleaned them. fuel flow is good. new air filter. new plugs changed the leads and still the same. has anyone had similar issues. thanks

sounds to me like you have the vacuum and breather pipes mixed up on the fuel tap.

swap them over & see what happens ;)
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

thanks for reply. i can see why you would think this but vacuum pipe is def on right. could it be a faulty tap maybe. when i had the tank off i did check the tap with i piece of pipe and sucked on pipe etc. flow was good.

I took tank off a few days ago and first time i put vacuum and breather pipes the wrong way round started ok but ran like a bag of poo struggling for fuel
