Alec, I just reread it to see why you might have been worried........cant see any bad way to read it, so your OK.

Grey metalic is a good description, just wasnt able to code it in as a honda colour in their search page as it is all based round the body work, not the engine. I will call them tomorrow to see if they know the colour.

What a bugger, look at all these good suggestions after I bodged mine! :)

I used a metalic Pueter, but I am not even sure it is oil & heat proof!!!!!!!!!!!, I have about 5 rattle cans of various sorts that wernt even close, so I just go bored and went with a near match as most of the bits that needed touched up were hard to see when the engine will be fitted.

Its for my spare engine which will get fitted in the winter and run for a year. So if the paint falls off it will be OK as I plan to rebuild the 1st engine and refit that as it is spotless

As a quick bodge on my wheels where it had bubbled and flaked was to rub the spots down and apply Hammerite - a mix of smooth black and silver to make a similar shade of matching metallic grey. Got a small jar premixed I use to keep on top every year.
