Rear wheel alignment
When refitting the rear wheel, what is the best way to make sure you get the two chain tightening things right so that the wheel is aligned?

go roughly off the marks on the adjuster, spin the wheel to check the chain run is silent, then confirm with a laser line.

you can pick them up in b&q for a tenner
they just point a perfectly straight line
use the discs as your straight edge on the front wheel, set the laser so it lines up with both edges of the rear tyre.
better than a skirting board plank which served me well for years lol

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.
Re: Rear wheel alignment
I check mine the old fashion way using string, but (as Benny mentions) a straight piece of skirting board would probably be easier.
You need to get a measurement from both sides of the front tyre to be able to tell if the rear is in line with the front.
Here's a How To using string:-

Re: Rear wheel alignment
wheel alignment seems to be something my bikes failed mot's on year in year out so what i did was got 2 7ft lengths of 1" box steel drilled a hole through both and welded a nut on the one side and so i can clamp it through the back wheel, probably sounds a bit over kill but with 4 bikes in the family and no intention of knocking bikes on the head it saves a massive amount of time and makes it a very quick and easy job because you can adjust it walk round the front of the bike and see easily the other good thing is that now when ever i have the back wheel off i check the alignment because its a 2 min job. best bit is that it only cost me about a tenner and 20 mins to make.
