Can someone with scorpion exhausts tell me, or post pictures of how they are bolted to the rear sets?
Mine is tight as hell trying to get it all to fit back together...
If I join the main pipe to the back cylinder down pipe, then the link pipe to the main pipe, I can not get the bolt hole on the bracket to line up with the hole on the foot peg on the gear / chain side of the bike.
Also, when I do force them into position with a jack, the chain side link pipe bracket goes to the wheel side of the hole on the foot peg. The bracket on the link pipe on the brake side of the back wheel bolts on the outside edge of the foot peg bracket.
Basically im wondering if this is correct or if my pipes are really bent somehow?

Re: Picture request
my vipers were like that as well so i had to mod the bracket on the link pipe a bit.
if they are clamped up proper and the hangers are tight, you can get away without the footpeg bolt imo.
my lasers dont fasten on there either side.

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

Hope these help a little mate -

MZ, first of all have a look at the last photo posted by Kev L to see if your link pipes have those steel wire heel guards fitted on yours, as they should have if they're Scorpion link pipes, unless a previous owner took them off and remove the fixings.Miztaziggy wrote:

My Scorpion link pipe brackets both righthand and lefthand sit in behind the foot peg brackets (nearest to the tyre) the same positions as the standard link pipes. The one on the rear brake side goes on easy-ish, but the other side is harder to fit, I use a thin putty knife to aid fitting on that side. Once I've slipped the bracket in place I then remove the knife.

No mate, mine arent high level cans, and they dont have them stainless heel guards he has on his. The link pipes are a simple pipe with a bracket on that attaches the pipe to the foot peg on each side.sirch345 wrote:MZ, first of all have a look at the last photo posted by Kev L to see if your link pipes have those steel wire heel guards fitted on yours, as they should have if they're Scorpion link pipes, unless a previous owner took them off and remove the fixings.Miztaziggy wrote:

I might loosen it all off and try to see if the bracket will go on the wheel side of the peg on the caliper side of things. As you said, the caliper side of mine goes on easy, but the chain side is difficult to get on.
If I cant get it back in place, Ill do as benny suggests and do without that bracket on the chain side and make sure it is all clamped up properly.

Re: Picture request
MZ, So you may not even have link pipes made by Scorpion if that's the case. It's up to you, but personally I'd not do away with that bracket/fixing point myself. If you followed my bike you'd be suprised how much my lefthand can moves about from the exhaust pulses. With only one bracket holding the can in place, if that bracket snapped it could be dangerous IMO, as the can and link pipe will turn on the joint to the headers.Miztaziggy wrote:

I'd make definitely sure the headers are on and fitted together properly first. Then try the link pipes again.

Re: Picture request
To finalise this one too - fitted it all back together properly tonight and found that the brackets on the link pipes should both go on the tyre sides of the mounting on the foot pegs.
They both went on quite easily when I got it all lined up right
