I've read before on here about the rectifier being weak on the firestorm, well mine went yesterday... Luckily I wasn't far from home - still within walking distance! I was lucky, it just popped the master fuse (blade, 30amp, left hand side of rear sub frame) - I have heard horror stories of generators, ECUs etc getting blown up in the process. Anyway... I managed to get home by disconnecting the rectifier (other side of sub frame) and with another fuse plugged in I didn't have to push it home! Credit it to the AA man who helped me out and supplied the fuse. So, perhaps an idea to carry a spare 30 amp fuse around. I'm not sure how far you could get with the battery not being charged but I'd imagine with no lights on it would be a reasonable distance.
I have a used R6 regulator but I don't really want to chop the loom about. Has anyone tried the updated honda part? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/GENUINE-VTR1000-F ... 2c5c36203d

cbr125r r/r off ebay is your best bet for a plug in alternative.
they are the later more reliable finned type and will go straight on with no mods

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

CBR125 - really? Wouldn't have thought it could take the load. Anyone actually done this? Lots of them on ebay, no genuine new honda ones though.
