Well, all i can say is well done for organising another cracking weekend. Got in bout 630pm, Had to stop couple of times on m62... The wind was a killer blowing me across lanes, but made it home safe and sound :D the ride out was awesome with some great roads, particularly enjoyed the one from devils bridge :D .... Weather was a bit of a downer for the second half, but still thoroughly enjoyed it. geodude has my footage from the camera. cant wait to see the edited video. Some cracking photos so far. Get well soon Playerone, hope you aint in too much pain, and you and the bike fix up quickly. And see everyone in Derbyshire in just under 5 weeks.

In my book that road is always fun. when I left you boys at Devils bridge, I already knew I was running late for family comitments back home, and I wasnt looking forwards to 130miles of wet roads, but that road surface is spot on, and the Mich pilot Road 2CT's are awesome in the wet. By the time I got to Ryahader I was smiling like a big kid [and also had wet crutch, like a little kid  ].............for some reason I enjoy riding in the rain, especially in Wales [which is fortunate!]

it stayed windy with a drizzle in the air all they way to the border, but the roads dried up after Crossgates and the traffic was dropping off, so I had a belting ride back.

Thanks to all for waiting for me to get there  , shame I missed the drinking on the evening, but at least I had a comfy warm dry bed

lack of concentration on the road and corner caught me out, probably wouldn't have happened if i kept up but severe lack of wet riding and confidence meant i was happy tailing behind

Sorry to hear of your misfortune mate. Any ideas what the bike needs to repair it, I know it probably hasn't been top of your things to do list. All the best.

you need to post up what bits you need for the fix bud, ive got odds & sods in the garage as im sure others have.
looked to have escaped major damage with just the can & gear lever taking a knock.
im not exactly the quickest rider in the wet meself and i was more confident seeing others ahead so i know what you mean about that... also as you say, your mind starts wandering off when youre cold & wet - lesson for all of us really.

you didnt miss much after though.... it continued to lash down til sunday morning and the beer was sh1t at the pub lol!

was a relatively slow off so bikes not too bad considering the distance it slid
mirror, indicator, gear lever and cans repaired or originals back on would have it up and running..........to make it pretty would take a lot more with the gravel rash she's got :shifty:

Playerone,
as you said, easy to get it back on the road, but a bit more effort to make back as good as new. shame the tank took a smack.

Also to repeat what has been said about MJONSEY.........a true gentleman.

I related the tale of saturdays adventure to some of my work mates, both Brits and Americans, and they couldnt belive that someone would go to such lenghts to help someone who they only just met.

i think it says a lot about, bikers, the type of people who own Firestorms, the comunity spirit in the forum, and specificaly Jonesy as a person. Good Karma should mean your payback will be worth waiting for

Sounds a bit like a crap oscar's speech, but the acts of kindness that pop up on this forum, especially in contrast to the rest of the selfish sh1t that goes on in the news, make me feel there may still be hope for the world. Gents I raise my glass to you all  and I am more proud than ever to be part of this club.

Glad to see you're going to be ok. I'm only fifty odd miles away in Chard. Give me a shout if you need anything or just fancy a change of scenery.

I think we all went: "Christ, that could have been me.....".
I was trying to provoke slides on new(ish) SportSmarts most of the day, then found some when I wasn't looking for them- that wet cattle grid halfway round a corner got my attention...

Cracking road, though, shame it cracked your fairing.

Shame you took your keys with you, too- I went up with the boys in a car intending to ride it back to the campsite for you!
Not much damage, really, but check the lockstops on the LH side; the clip-on shouldn't have impacted the tank much, and either the clip-on has bent or maybe the lockstop has snapped.
If you need a replacement bottom yoke I will donate one to the cause.
And you'll need a replacement can clamp, it must have rolled over the bank- lucky you didn't.

Hope the surgery's not painful, and if you heal up quick we'll see you in Silver Zipper's pub in five weeks
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

that got me as well with a little sideways slip front & back.... fortunately it was only 4ft long so i was back on wet road before going right down... got the old 5p 50p 5p tho 8O

regarding the lock stops on the frame - mine went when i binned mine but i just ground them back to shape with the dremel and then welded a m4 nut on the yoke stops.
lost a slight bit of lock & the steering lock doesn't work now but at least it passed mot & there's no trap zone.
well worth having a look as they are made of solder and deform very easy.

Between the pain and the cursing at being such a tw*t for coming off it never occured to me to give the key to the lads in the car even when they said they would go to the campsite to let u know
