What have I done?

Post by geodude »

I have just made a deal to swap my storm for an old Mk1 Bandit. (with an anti-flip device :D )

Go on, laugh. Pick fun out of me. I don't care.

The thing is the storm is going to a good home. It will be immediately street-fightered and I'll be able to have a go on it now and then so all good :)

Also, the wife wants to do her DAS so this will be ideal for her. Shall I change the gearing on it one day and not tel her just for a laff?

Let the beating commence!!

"You utter, utter, utter, utter, utter BA*TARD..........." Not really. A mans gotta do what a mans gotta do, if the circumstances demand then any of us would do the same thing. If you eventually come to your senses theres still the option of buying a decent Blue one rather than the rather tacky Yellow, so 1980's dear.
Good luck with it fella.

well not a surprise that you let the Storm Go, as you were getting tempted with the need to have a green laner..............but not sure that a mk1 bandit [600 or thou?] will be any good even with knobblies :P

I think the IAM man inside you was telling you that you couldnt have any bike with clip-ons. You have us Storm heads like a devil on one sholder with race cans and black visors, and IAM angel with yellow vest and upright riding position on the other sholder :D , the man in the vest won :o

does this mean you will drift off to the BMW and Bandit forums and never be seen again, or are we stuck with you

Well its funny you should say that. but no. lol

Each year, we sit down as a family and set up goals for the year. Family goals and individual goals. My goals for this year included going offroad (green laning) Ive done that and its difficult to justify buying all the gear and a bike too. So, I have agreed to put this off to next year or the year after.

My wifes goals included passing her bike test. She didn't like sitting on the storm. The 600 Bandit is lower as it has a cut out seat. Ideal for her to do the DAS on. Her favorite colour is green. The bandit is green-ish

So,

1. I get a bike I can learn to wheelie on (it has the anti-flip device on it) and I'll not be so gutted when I drop it.
2. My mate gets a firestorm which he'll street fighter and I can play one (hopefully he will let me bring it to a storm meet or two if I am still welcomed which I am sure I will be as you are all great)
3. My wife is happy too

Obviously 3 will make the development of next years goals easier :)

As for the IAM stuff. Well, please let me know where in Roadcraft it says to dump the clutch? lol

I will have another firestorm when I can afford it financially. In a future goal perhaps :)

Lol. It's not connected to the flat. Its part of a block of garages. The bandit isnt really getting rusty as such. Very dusty, yes.

lol No but one of her goals is to be more organised. FAIL! lol I was more concerned about the little one freezing tbh and pissed off she didn't do as she was told, i mean didn't listen!!

Anyways, we have agreed not to mix bikes with camping until we are both biking. We will be trying again soon but with no bikes :) I'll be so bored I will have to help!! j/k

What the chuffin hell is an anti-flip device (I always use a gentle rear brake dab if all goes a touch too vertical!! lol) :confused :confused :confused

Yeah, you see, my brain doesn't work that quick, or it didnt when i flipped the storm anyways.

You can adjust it as you get higher. It means I can concentrate on perfecting he launch without too much fear of flipping it. It'll be hidden behind the numberplate too

Its wired into the side stand switch. If you hit it, it momentarily cuts the engine. You can adjust the length of the stick to adjust the height before it kicks in.
