Post by scorpio333uk »

Hi,
I have a Scottoiler from a fazer I had before the storm.
Can anyone tell me where the vacuum pipe fits on the storm? :?
is there a little pipe with a rubber bung which you slide the vacuum pipe onto,if
so whereabouts is it. :?
Cheers.

Put a T piece in the vacuum hose that goes to the just behind the fuel tap to the rear cylinder or better still put a connector into the front cylinder and run off a new length of vacuum hose that in turn connects to the scottoiler (+ doubles up as a carb balancer)

Wicky,
thanks for your reply.Excuse my ignorance  but these connections you mention do they already exist on the machine?
Assuming they do, are you saying that having a connection from the front pot will balance up the rear - carb wise?
cheers..

The rear pot connector>fuel tap is there already to allow fuel to be drawn - To install a separate front pot connector to your Scottoiler you'll need to put in a connector ( to replace blanking plug bolt) and a new hose to connect to your Scottloiler.

The bonus is that if you need to balance your carbs you'll have all the plumbing in place to do so (see Workshop knowledgebase stick thread http://www.vtr1000.org/phpBB3/viewtopic ... 31&t=18430 )

also http://www.scottoiler.com/uk/installation-guides.html enter VTR1000 for PDF installation guide

Tomorrow I can take some pics to show my install
