Hey Guys,
Just thought i would ask some advice, the clutch and most of the parts related to it on my firestorm are pritty ruined after the previous owner dropped it (he came off worse than the bike, poor sod).
Was wondering if anyone had any advice for replacing the grip, clutch, clutch master cylinder, resevoir etc affordably?
The other thought i had was to mod my exhaust by hollowing out the stock ones as i've seen suggested elsewhere, and possibly taking 6" or so of length out of them. Does anyone have any suggestions of pro's and cons for this?

Ebay is your friend.
And modding standard exhausts- just search using the search function as plenty have done this, but best results are from just drilling out the end plates and enlarging the exit hole.
Better yet, fit aftermarket ones, again, Ebay will reveal a few bargains, depending on your budget.
Don't forget that ideally you should rejet afterwards, which is best done on a dyno so that the jetting is correct across all of the rev range.

Buy the bits on ebay - but make sure you get the correct early or late model parts. Cons - The parts have an unknown mileage / level of wear,
Pros 2nd hand parts are cheap compared to new prices, Some oft the parts are shared with other Honda models from the same period*)
Find the parts you are after for instance on this 99 VTR (For late model parts go to a 2001+ versions) (also watch out that parts here are for the US Superhawk but they mostly match UK Firestorms)

heh, been a while since i had to work on a motorcycle, thanks for the advice guys

Hmm, the clutch master cylinder on this site is not the correct one. They all seem to use the 05 design. BOO and Ass buiscuits!

Does anyone know of compatable clutch master cylinders from other bikes, the VTR one seems.... bloody rare to be honest.

if all you need is the fluid reservoit, you can use one off almost anything and knock up a bracket to suit.
Race bikes just use clear plastic tube!
if you also need a master cyl, then you need to take care of what diameter the piston is, other than that use one from any other bike with hyd clutch
