Err - that was me Clivey.......

The one thing I haven't sorted yet is the front end.
My budget (wot budget?) got eaten up by the dreaded CCT going titsup on front cylinder - and I bought this Storm 'cos the guy said he'd done them - liek a fool, I didn't check. Dunno when (if) he'd done it - but they were the standard autos - not manuals. Grrrr

Anyhoo - sorry to pip you at the post but if it's any consolation - I can shove my old 900 Diversion so much harder into corners than I can the Storm and we can't allow an "old man's bike" show up MrHonda's finest now can we?
I'll strip & recon the front end as per all the excellent advice on this forum and stick some BT021s on for some serious good fun!

BTW - keep seeing a blue Stormer on the Snakespix site for Poole Quay - anyone here?

Fair play to ya - I had a budget to stick to as well, had a CCT failure a few months ago - and spent a potful sorting it! I'll keep my eyes open - it's too softly sprung for me (I used to have a ZX7R which had an awesome front end)

Must make Poole Quay - I only have to go from Fareham....!

Reckon I must have stood in summat, was dead lucky with the CCT as did no damage to valves. Just left home and still on choke so going easy & heard something was wrong as it failed, pulled the clutch, hit kill switch and rolled back home.

Was lucky to get the springs at that price too.
Come on down, we'll meet up at the Quay & I'll buy you a beer!

About 10minutes from Poole in Bere Regis - you've probably been through, like most people, on the way to Devon and the West Country.
Finally got around to fitting those springs last night. Bit disappointed to find someon'es already tried to sharpen up the front end with some progressives :confused
Anyway, finished late last night so she's still up on the stand. I'll get around to measuring the static sag & suchlike soon and see what improvements I can get. :)

So you might have a cheap pair of progressives to sell on to someone who doesn't have any!

Oh, I know Bere Regis - spent a lot of my yoof trolling over Dorset lol...

Edit: and a bit of time on the Bike - this was taken looking over at Fovant...

Dunno what make they are or what rate. I can hit the stops with them and I'm only 13 stone.

Fovant is the next county - Wiltshire. Go there on the CRF for the byways and Salisbury Plain :)
Dorset is for the Jurassic Coast, fresh seafood, and some cracking country roads!

OMG!
What a difference! It handles now
Tried to set the static sag as per instructions herein but couldn't get any more than 22mm without pre-load. So just had one turn of damping as a start point and rode the usual route to work - know every bump and pothole of that road.
WHAT A DIFFERENCE :P
Instead of feeling vague and indifferent, with forks bottoming out over the usual Council tarmac, the front feels really planted now. Had a little tweak on the damping but just ended up back at one turn only. No extra preload required ( I've lost weight  ) and I really can chuck it in the corners - think I might even persevere with the Maxxis tyres.....

Only other thing I might try is dropping the yokes 5mm to quicken the steering a little bit.

Best money I've spent on a bike to date.
Just can't wait to ride it again - so much so, I'm even looking forward to going to work - how sad is that?
If you've ever thought of changing - JUST DO IT!
