Manual CCT's fitted - result - Thanks guys

Post by dogfish66 »

After a day at Cadwell - see avatar pic - I had a intermittent knock on the front cylinder - usually after hitting the limiter  - which worried me slightly - read the forum notes - bought some manuals off of pont? on ebay and fitted em yesterday using relevant printed off notes and some gasket sealent - ching ching ma jing, no knock - ace
Thanks guys for the informative info :D

I did find a use for the old ccts tho - when cleaning off the old gasket from the mating surface - dampened the gasket with thinners and a rag then pulled the oily cct out just enough to leave the plunger body flush to the hole in the cylinder - then when you scrape the rest of the gasket off it sticks to the oil on the plunger and non goes in the engine - wey hey - a genuine use before filing under B -

Don't just bin the old ones- donate them to Bazza696 so that he can convert them to manuals for other people on here. His are only £35 a pair, so much more affordable for those on a tighter budget.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
