first off, give it a garage companion....

then fit the hc pistons, new rings, shells, clutch & bearing, inspect & repair the gearbox, replace damaged crankcases, fit the new chain & sprox, maybe bin the road fairings and lights etc and fit my track fairings & seat, seeing as i hardly ever use the bike at night anyway and have sold my track bike.

result should be a much quicker, lighter and reliable vtr :D

My plans are simple.

Imma ride the bugger until the snow arrives!
And if the band you're in starts playing different tunes, I'll see you on the dark side of the moon.

I'm also going to be riding it, snow or no snow. Makes no difference to me apart from it can be ridiculous amounts of fun in the snow.

I plan to swap the engine to see if my spare engine fixes the high frequency vibration and clutch grab.

If that desnt fix it then I am confused, and I will then sell one of the engines.

If it does fix it the currently the plan would then be to strip down the engine that I take out, and put new beaings for the mains and the clutch, but while I am in there I may as well add high comp pistons............but knowing me, I will fit the new engine and then do nothing with the old one

Swing arm off for a clean, check bearings check the pro link bearings and start heat wrapping the exhausts.

whilst down that end I may purchase an undertray and fit that.

purchase another set of VTR forks and polish them so if someone want san exchange pair of highly polished folrks then they can have them at a cost..

Spray it with everything I can lay my hands on and ride, ride, ride - down South!!

Plus continue my self teach mechanicking.

Plus, change jobs so I can get an SP for the summer and the Storm becomes my winter transport.

And if the snow gets too bad - stay home

- Re-install Hyperplates (hard anodized and cryogenically treated aluminum clutch plates; significant drop in rotating weight).
- Possibly replace existing front brake combo of EBC 320mm race rotors and Vesrah RJL pads with Braketech Axis Cobra (stainless) 298mm rotors and SRJL pads
- possibly replace standard rear wheel bearings with ceramic hybrid versions (had a set in last year but they failed as a result of a problem with rear wheel, which has since been fixed).

Not much else left to do....... :shifty:

I have a cunning plan, but you'll just have to wait and see......

But having assessed the differences in power between the SP1 engine and the Storm engine, I think there are five or six bhp to be found, and I think I know where it is.

As ever the dyno will tell its story.

And I ran my high comp engine in running around to and from work in the ice and snow, in Kent, this last winter.
Locked up every time I shut the throttle- so I tried not to.....
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
