Love Hate

Post by oldbikeman »

When I first got my Storm I hated it,moaned about everything.Bad suspension, brakes, gearbox ,lack of bottom end,it might go bang, thirsty and even the switches but after a bit spannering and growing a pair I am totally in love with it.Every ride is an event nothing else comes close and I've had a lot of bikes (all fours). The potential as a sports bike just gets better and better ,always leaves me hungry for more .A new four would blow me away for about a month.A very under rated machine for peanuts.

the character of the storm soon grows on you. inline 4's are bland by comparison.
you get to really enjoy the experience of riding on a storm and you dont have to be doing twice the legal limit to appreciate it

After 10 yrs of owning mine, I still find days with I hate it just a bit, hate is a very strong word].

may be the lack of comfort, or the front end not as precisie as I want, or It is not as composed in bumpy bends as need ..................but it is blotted out on the days when it all flows [like every time I ride the A44 from the welsh border to the coast....even in the wet]....then it is the best bike in the world and I do love it.

And the good days are 80% of teh times I ride it :D

and the fact that it is not fashionable, and very understated gives me the last laugh when you come up against some people with the latest toy and they cant keep up in the bends

especially funny when they are constantly overbraking because they cannot match the shear drive out of the corners you can get on a twin... their sewing machines take a while to wind up

A few changes to the forks and now it's one of the best bikes I've ridden front end wise.
