braced swingarm help
help after braking the brake caliper support thingy on my swingarm i've decided to go for the braced look as i've got all the bits ,but i'm stuck the cbr900 brace i cut of , the box section part seem to large for where it sits , just wondered what other people had done i'm thinking of cutting it of and putting smaller on . any idea's?
Re: braced swingarm help
The brace needs to be shortened by a few mm at the rear, the front bridging section needs to be cut back on the RH side box section as it will foul the shock at full compression.
Cut out a wedge-shaped section and weld in a flat ali piece to seal it up again.
Just spraying mine as we speak (between coats) so pics later this eve.

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

braced swingarm help
I'm using a brace of a 1992 blade
As the rear box section is one piece
So just a little reshaping with a hammer to get the curvature for the shock no cutting needed

Can't ride but it don't stop me trying
