Re: Seat unlock mechanism
look in the parts fiche in the workshop section... shows how the bits go together.
note it's worth knocking the square metal hoops on the subframe forwards about 5mm as it makes it easier to get the seat off

You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.
Re: Seat unlock mechanism
Unfortunately I didnt take pictures of mine when I removed it, or when I refitted it.
It will only go on one way. I'll try to explain.
The slot for the latch faces upwards. There is a bolt hole and also a peg on the top side of the latch module. The peg locates to the front of the metal plate on the sub frame (which has holes in it of various sizes). The bolt is immediately behind. The cable itself has a block connector which slots into the latch module (it functions in a similar way to push bike brake lever cable slots). It will really only go in one way, slide the cable through the gap and once rotated, it is firmly in position.
There is a plastic shim/spacer, this locates horizontally under the metal plate on the right side (if you are facing the front of the bike). It requires a bit of a push to fit, it should "click" when in place correctly.
If this doesnt help, I'll whip my seat off and get you a picture. Truth is though, you cant really go wrong as it will really only fit one way.
Hope this helps. I hope I didnt misunderstand and you've actually disassembled the latch module, wasnt even aware you could do that.

Re: Seat unlock mechanism
Thankyou for the response
If I could get a picture that would be ideal as I'm starting to think maybe I don't have everything !
The diagram looks simple enough just starting to wonder if I'm missing something off my subframe
Cheers guys

Re: Seat unlock mechanism
Stripping mine out tomorrow or Friday to fit a new back end, so if you've not worked it out I'll post some pics.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

The sub frame should look like this when nothing is fixed to the rear plate (where the latch mechanism fits):sirloveyou wrote:Thankyou for the response

You can see the two large holes, ignore those for the moment. You're looking at the top two holes, large and small. Small is for the peg on the latch, large for the bolt. The cut out section is where the latch comes down from the seat into the mechanism.
Here is another one of the latch fitted, but sadly before I cleaned it up so its not so clear. You can see roughly where it should locate, including the bolt and peg holes in use.

The latch cable runs over the top of the beam in that picture. I didnt like this angle, so I rerouted it underneat the beam when I reassembled.
