engine noise

Hi Guys

Got a weird engine noise which only occurs around 2-3k, which sounds like a knocking noise? Doesn't make any odd noises on tick over, generally appears when turning into a corner or on a round about (1st gear 2-3K) After looking on this site it appears it could be the CCT but im not sure that it is, has anyone else had these symptoms?

Check your chain is not too slack & is hitting the exhaust link pipe.

thought it could be that but also makes the noise when the bike is still and in neutral?

Check rear cush drive, behind the sprocket carrier on the rear wheel.

And while you're there, give the swing arm a wiggle sideways to check SA bearings, or anything not tightened up properly.

cheers for some ideas to look at, it really sounds like the engine as it makes a noise when the bike isn't moving? Sounds almost like a big end bearing or something?

Im also wondering if the carbs aren't balanced, as i struggled to get it started a few weeks ago. It starts fine now, but feels 'steppy' when high in the rev range (almost feels like its surging like a blocked jet)

Very much doubt its a big end you would be experiencing vibrations through the foot pegs & the noise will always be there.

noise seems to get worse as the engine gets warmer and appears to be coming from the rear bank? Oddly its fine when revving up but makes the knocking noise when the revs are dropping back to idle? doesn't make any particularly odd noises when ticking over? REALLY CONFUSED!!!
