Abba stand VTR fitting kit number ?

Post by slipper 1 »

Just bought an Abba stand off of ebay, does anyone know what fitting kit is required? Tried looking on the Abba website but it does not say. Would an SP2 kit fit?
Trying to figure out what the fitting kit number is.

Thanks

When I bought mine off E Bay it came with a couple of sets of adapters for different bikes (not VTR) and by combining them they fitted the bike.
On a similar note has anyone used the Abba swingarm removal kit on the VTR? I bought a set in readiness for fitting my new swingarm, however there doesn't appear to be anywhere to mount too.

for swing arm removal, i didnt buy any new adapters but still got it to work.

tips are:
a) you need to fix the stand to the engine mounting bolt which is above and forward of the swing arm [above clutch / sprocket cover]
b) one of the standard adaptors works on the sprocket side, but on the clutch side i used a socket which fits onto the head of the engine mounting bolt, then used a lenghth of jubilee clip to wrap the outside of the socket to make it a snug fit into the ABBA screw end. then you tighten up as normal.
c) Because you are mounting higher up the bike than normal, you need to get some 3"x2" wood to fit under the base of the ABBA and the 2 front legs.
d) I did all this with the bike on a paddock stand, and when I had all the bits of wood under the ABBA stand in the correct places, I lowered the bike off the paddock stand so it is now sitting on the ABBA stand on top of the wooden spacers.

nice and solid and you can take off swingarm
