Crankcase Hole Cap

Post by Griff1977 »

Guys, can anyone help at all? Two questions really:

1. Ive just had my bike serviced and manual CCTs fitted, great, but realised that my crankcase hole cap (crankshaft end cap) had had to be drifted out last time it was touched, and so it had to be drifted again. So I want to replace it so I can relax and use a traditional allen key!! Does anybody have one of these (and poss it's rubber seal) spare/for sale?

2. Does anybody know of a good website for parts for the Firestorm (i.e. the crankcase hole cap) - there are also a few slightly rusty bolts and nuts around the bike that id like to replace for cosmetic reasons! Im thinking a site that I can explode a section of the bike and zoom in for a part number and then price/availability! Does this sort of site exist?

Ta guys, the service went well and manual ccts fitted perfectly, regardless of above problem.

Ta, Griff

just put the year/model in the search criteria.

David Silver spares are good too.

Also try Wemoto, I recommend them as they're usually cheapest, and delivery is very quick, often following day.

Google Wemoto, they're actually World's End Motorcycles or something like that.

Genuine and pattern parts available.

Also try searching on here for "cap" as there have been lots of different ideas tried.
The trick is to only do it up very lightly, and use silicon sealer to stop it coming undone (but they never do)

Trouble is, if you see a 10 Allen key, it usually mean you can lean on it; not in this case, though.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.
