Befflectomy !!

Post by lloydie »

I have race cans fitted
K/n filter
Dyno jets

But it's really to much noise for my ears even with the baffles fitted
So i want to fit the standard silencers
But de baffled as I'm led to believe it's a good sound but without being over the top

So my question is will I have to get it set up on the dyno because of the change ??

I have a set of standard cans and i've done the bafflectomy.. Its a lovely sound, much better than standard cans with baffles in. I'm actually going to be selling them in a week or so as i have after markets going on.

Hmm not to be thick but how do you perform the bafflectomy?

Hi Damo, yer best off entering the word bafflectomy in the search function at the top of the screen as there is plenty info for you to read
It'll all be OK in the end and if its not OK then its not the end

Type bafflectomy in the search bar and that will bring all the information you'll need on how to do it apart from what I need

Lloydie, It's not going to be so good as it is at the moment, even more so if you had it set up on a dyno. You'll have to try it and see. Doing a bafflectomy to the standard silencers will help I'm sure, but the standard silencers will still be stifling the engine. Normally when a Dyno jet kit is fitted (along with a K & N air filter and race cans like you have) the jets are bigger than the standard ones, so I expect going back to the standard silencers will make the bike run on the rich side with the set-up you have. If it does run reasonably well (which I doubt) keep an eye on the colour of the spark plugs.

What about wearing ear plugs instead :?: or have you already tried that.

I just fitted a set of Scorpions on yesterday & yes it is loud when riding slow but after 50 mph wind noise takes over, I have also noticed she is less lumpy at slow speeds.
