Storm drag bike at the Bulldog

Post by tony.mon »

While Benny Hedges and meself were stuffing our clutches at the dragstrip we saw this.

Pretty standard, except for the 6" over length swing arm.
It has a Blade brace, but it's floating at the front end, stiffens it up a bit, though.

Standard engine, even has standard CCT's, but due to the extra length arm pulled 11.3's, whereas I could only manage 11/7's.

I might have the edge round Brands Hatch short circuit, though!
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

yeh was surprised how he got on tbh... im sure his times were a bit lower than that as well.
problem is, it's almost impossible to get a fast launch on the storm without pivoting on the back wheel, which i nearly did on a few runs lol, much to my shittage 8O
1st, 2nd & into 3rd o the back wheel then skipping off the ground rather wobblyly :|
will return next time with longer s/a and tuned for torque... maybe with a hardtail link...

(that's if i go on the storm)

It's probably not, but is that you Benny in the background at 2.18?

Looks quite like a white firestorm to me.

probably best to buy a donor s/a off ebay and cut a section out & weld it up.
might be worth bracing the sides as well.

Fame at last (basks in reflected glory).
Wish I'd got a good cloud of tyre smoke, though, must have been one of our later runs where we were trying not to cook the clutch.
