Recently I had one of those moments. " A Moment of Clarity" or "A Zen Experience". It's been a while since I've had the feeling of calmness and tranquility where I could see and think clearly. Most times my mind is like scanning the a.m. radio dial.
What brought me to this state of mind? The cool weather? I was on my bike for the first time since I laid it down? Was it just foggy enough that my vision was limited to maybe a quarter mile? I was happy that my new gear kept me nice and warm instead of feeling biting cold windchill on exposed parts? Could have been all of them.
I noticed this joy when I saw 2 BMW riders going the opposite direction with full gear and hardbags and we acknowledged each other with "the wave". I realized that I am a motorcyclist and that now is the time of year when the squids in t-shirts and no helmets disappear. I am now part of the fraternity of responsible riders.
I'm sure this makes no sense, or it makes all the sense in the world. I guess it will depend if you've experienced this motorcycle nirvana or not.

No! How dare you call me responsible.penst8grad wrote: I am now part of the fraternity of responsible riders.
Responsible riders do not ride in the rain, cold, ice, fog, snow.... They pack their kit away and leave the bike in the garage until April.
