Cheers for the photo's AMcQ, it looks very well finished

Is it still possible to fit the so called fork leg protectors with the brace fitted :?:

Yes I have refitted the protectors, but I think I will have to cut 10mm off the bottom to make sure they don't clash with the bottom yoke at full fork compression

My protectors don't hit anything on compression, but did have to put a dab of superglue on to stop them falling off and rattling round on the fork.

Do those pieces of plastic actually protect anything? Are they one of those strategically placed deflectors that deflect a large proportion of debris or are they purely to hide the need to make that area between the shiney and the dull look good?

Full compression?! Jesus. That's effective stopping that it! I must be more "on/off" with my throttle/brake. No more cruising for me.

I've purchased the same and fitted. I'll be trying it out on Saturday at rockingham's finest.

I noticed that my wheel axel nut was on too tight and all four of my pinch bolts loose! Oh dear.

I think I'll cut the protectors off. I don't see the point in them really.

Just realised that I didnt finish my report out on this when riding.

At first I thought there was no big difference in normal handleing, but what I realised was that the threshold of where the forks start to "tie them selves in knots" is now much higher, ..............so much more of the time everything feels normal, if you know what I mean.

So end conclusion, is that under heavy braking or leaned over hard on bumpy roads, there is more control and rigidity from the forks........oh and it looks good

next job is to do a tidy up on the drawing and measurements, but will do that soon......or not

Sounds like a plan, not that I understood a word of it!

How much would one of these cost then?

Think I might try some, to see if there's a noticeable difference.

But because I'm tight, I'll try first with a spare top yoke, clamped on the legs where a custom brace would go, which will look pants but do the same job for testing purposes.
That'll stiffen the forks up enough to see whether there's an advantage to be had.

Anyone got one knocking around I could borrow?
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

Tony If you concentrated on one project at a time & got the chicken coop finished........can you see where this one is going?..........then you would have plenty of yokes & wouldn't have to scrounge one. Ba Boom Tishhhhhhh.

I'll get me coat, better make it a waterproof one it's raining.

Tony, How are you planning top use a top yoke that normally clamps onto the fork stanchions/legs, when the brace clamps onto the sliders :?:
