Clamp it onto the stanchions, fractionally above the highest point that the mudguard reaches on full compression, this should stabilise the legs to a degree.
If it needs to be lower, take the mudguard off temporarily.

It still adds a degree of extra stiffness to the fork assembly.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

I tries a coerce one at rockingham the other day. It did seem to provide more confidence mid corner. Mind you I do have roger'd forks too.

I won't be taking it off so it's good.
No bike (yet).
