What would be the conventional thought that because the tensioners are hydraulicaly operated and depend on oil pressure .... just set the stage
That some of these failures are in hi-mile motors with lower oil pressure than newer ones and a thicker oil as the engine ages might be warranted ?
Another thought is the oil in some failures was simply too thin to maintain enough pressure to tension even in good tight engines .Might have thinned from too long of use and or just original choice was too thin .
Just a thought on the subject but these are not the only engines to fail like this . Older Kawasaki's and Suzuki inline fours would loose tension when chopping the throttle at high rpm .

Well people I think none of you really know what you are talking about as the last posts about the cct's are well mildly speaking, shite, not correct, err wot bike are you lot talking about, somebody help me.
Maybe i flipped onto a tractor site or somit.
Del (have to keep you lot inline when you get mixed up, he he)

Yeah me bad for assuming they were like some other tensioners I've seen .tony.wilde1 wrote:

Looks like there's an easy painless fix for the problem though .
