New Toy :-)

Post by MJONESY »

Picked up my new toy last night, even with the crap trip home consisting of police stop, half hour diversion for an accident and both wheel bearings going loose on the trailer, i am a happy man.

58plate with 600 miles on the clock, and as clean as they come, its quadzilla 300exl by the way, just need the snow to hurry up and come down now

Visited your fine town on Saturday night along with 7 other bikes from the Bedfordshire HOC club (11of us in all).
485 miles in all, stayed in the Richmond hotel on the sea front and spent our money in the Varsity bar       Then came home........
Nice roads

Cheers

Hmm. Maybe you could join me when I hit the green lanes around the Claerwen reservoir next year? I'll have to bring the DR now. 175miles on the DR just to get there should be alright, right?

Only rode one once, ran over my own leg hanging off it.....

There's probably a different technique to bikes, but I wasn't on it long enough to find out!
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

done about 40 miles on it so far and its not as bad as i was expecting on the road, do about 50-60mph but with no diff thats quick enough, there is definately a knack to going round bends on it, its very twitchy so trying to get used to letting it go and slide a bit on the road.

on the lanes its been great fun, with less grip it will let the inside wheel spin a bit and goes round bends a treat,

had to do a couple of bits to it already one being a front plate (few locals been fined for it) and take the slack out of the throttle cable, also its a common thing for people to disconnect the parking brake because they dont release far enough to not wear the pads out so modified the bit on the calliper now to put a massive spring on to make sure it releases properly.

the really weird thing with it is that the what should be the front brake lever is the parking brake to the rear caliper locked the back wheels up a few times till i worked that out, what should be the rear brake lever operates all the brakes and really does stop when you stand on that,

off up into the hills on her today so will try and get some pics :D

As much as I tried to talk you out of wasting your money on such a pointless and dangerous vehicle I did rather enjoy my little spin on it the other night.....
