New triumph..looks good

Post by AMCQ46 »

Just saw this on an email from MCN.

Image

How good does that look, shame it is just a concept mockup

And reading a bit more, it is only triumph engined, the bike is built and designed by a small Brit company

And so is the scrambler

Looks like what you'd get if ducati bought triumph.

Ducumph?

Nice, though.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

That scrambler looks ok for the trails. I think its donning Michelin Anakee II tyres too.

I think Tricati sounds better tony.

i personally prefer more of a fairing on a bike, seems every year they get smaller and smaller and less and less plastics

2004 Blade

2012 Blade

I Also prefer the fatter back end on the 04 model too, i know they had an under-seat exhaust system, but the RR3 had a decent back end too, on the new blade's there wombles tiny, bikes so small they look like learners

yeh the 2010 blade fits me like a glove, as does the rc8 & new ducati panigale.
feel sorry for lanky fkers cos there's not as much choice!
thing is with the plastics, looking at the 04 blade theres like 3 grand in plastics there... drop it off the stand and its wrote off cat c lol.
but then again, with the new half naked bikes if you drop them the frame gets scuffed then its a cat b!

the big tourers seem to be going the other way though.... i used to love the big zzr but the 1400 now, the front plastics look awfull imo, way ott.
id upload some pics from this years nec but i just realise i pay for picture messages on my new fone lol! 8O

I expeted to love the new 1199 when I was at the NEC but to be honnest I wasn't keen, sure its gonna be a devil of an engine but it was just to small for me when I got on, I'm not massive IMO I'm 6'3 and I look like a guy on a bmx on it!!

The 848 tho ohhhhh what a beauty in the tri-colour

Much prefer a duke with underseat exhausts and a single swinger , don't like the look of that neer horizontal shock on the 1199 when I saw it.

Did you see those big turbo desiel bikes? Guy said 100mpg and top speed of 100, I wasn't that impresed 150mpg Yeh but cars with the same engine as that are need 100 mark

dont see the point in it tbh with the price of diesel..... im sure itd be ok for a big tourer but not for a sports bike.
lpg power on the other hand.... now that'd be worth seeing... 36p/l and same performance as petrol...
you could even run a turbine off it!

That 1050 is definite lust material. Would love to see these chaps at doing something with the VTR mill.....

that Triumph Engima is all brit built - Tigcraft frame, K-tech suspension and carbon Dymag wheels with the 1050 engine. mmmmm.

One question - why did Honda ditch the V-twin when they had so much going for them after sticking one to ducati and aprilia? Also in Ride's best secondhand bikes the storm appeared but they made the comment that is was a poor seller.

The VTR1000F Firestorm was a quick response to the acclaimed Ducti 916 and developed from an American concept.
The Super Hawk's project leader, Naoyuki Saito, stated Honda wanted to create a new type of twin-cylinder sports package that could rival the Ducati's level of performance while maintaining Japanese quality and practicality.
http://www.motorcycle.com/manufacturer/ ... -1454.html

SP1 and 2 were designed for the race track and did the necessary job, but Honda had invested heavily on V4s and IL4s for carrying the flagship torch and the Superbike rules changed allowing 1L IL4s making V-twins redundant.

Just be grateful of a long relatively unchanged production run for the Storm that gives us a greater quantity of compatible spares from ebay breakers!

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.
