Its Alive!!!

Post by seb421 »

Well after the engine transplant complete the bike fired up fine, what a monster it sounds

was a bit wary with the APE cct's glad to say all it well, a slight rattle on warm up then goes away :)

So much better than the last engine ever felt and sounded?

Such a harsher bark and thump to it (using the same pipes)

tried to make a video of it, but the audio isn't great.

Cant wait to see what the 6mm spacer has done to the rear. was going to nip out on it today but bloody clutch needs bleeding, guessing some one was playing in the garage when i had the housing off

just got to nip up the engine bolts and a few others then all is good!

A big thank you to the lads on here that supplied help and info

Cheers all.

Will set about taking the old engine apart when im bored and its warmer

Well done on the engine transplant. Did you remove the clutch lever before you took the slave off? I know others have had the same problem and put it down to the lever.

Ah.
I may be over-pessimist here, and hope I'm wrong, but don't be too surprised to find it won't pull past 6500 any more.

When you time the engine 180 degrees out it sounds superb, harsher and with more bark as you say, but won't pull higher revs.
Don't panic, though, it does no damage and it's an easy fix.

Let us know what you find once the clutch is bled again?

Fingers crossed, though....

It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

when the clutch lever is attached, even all the way out, it puts just a little bit of pressure on the piston inside the master cylinder, enough to push out the slave when its hanging loose.
just a tip for next time you take the cover off
