Cleaning advice

Post by ktd001 »

I know I know, what do you mean 'cleaning'? :?
Considering selling the Storm 8O so need to do a full clean up job on it. The only bit that's troubling me is the yoke. It's got really grubby with key marks, exhausted rider dribble etc  .
Any advice on how I can bring the shine back?
Also, do you think it's worth having the smell of freshly cooked toast in the garage for when buyers arrive?

Freshly baked bread mate - not toast. Get a fire going in the corner too and maybe one of them old english sheepdog lads asleep in front of it, you know, get a good homely atmos goin :D

Get some stainless steel hob cleaner stuff (it's pretty acidic so watch yer paws) and a SOFT (so you don't leave big wire marks everywhere) wire brush. Just keep scrubbing it and washing it off and keep repeating, ye know, lather, rinse repeat. Look at some of your mots shampoo bottles for instructions  Dunno bout getting that cleaner sh1t on paintwork tho..... if your careful you won't, just keep a hose handy to rinse it all down if it does.
Out of my way or I'll eat the lot of ye!!

If you're as lazy as me...you could just stick a carbon yoke protector over the top for about a tenner.
Drink to contentment not to capacity. I just haven't figured out which comes first.

Yokey dokey!

Hmmmm, hard work versus lazy git? :?

I LIKE the stick on yoke idea! :D

Paint it black? With my DIY skills it would crapper than it does now!
Still, thanks for getting the Rolling Stones stuck in my head! 8O
