Need help - how to assemble Honda CCT correctly?

Post by bluesman »

All gurus :) I am looking for help.
During my work on replacing Honda CCT with one from Kawasaki I disassembled original Honda CCT. I now how to assemble it from mechanical point of view, but may I ask you how to do it correctly - I mean, how many turns of rod in I should do before putting it together, shall I pre-wind spring to X turns etc?
Please help! Don't want to throw it away - it is in good state, might be that it still be needed...

Bluesman, if it has been used, and disassembled the only way to get an assembled one in you hand that you can trust is buy another one!
Take that one and keep it on your bedside locker, so when the next damned taxi driver starts beeping the horn at some stupid hour of the night, wombles it out the window at him, coz that's all its good for now!! Seriously, they are dodgey friggin things anyway nevermind after being messed with!!

Yep, I did not take notes - but there is nothing to capture when you disassemble it, no way to mark or write down - it just turns :)
Assembling is not a problem, problem is to know how many turns set to spring to pre-wind and how many turns it screwed in...

OK, that's settled - that one will be "demo" piece of junk :)
And - I am not going to get new one, my Kawasaki CCT seems to hold it perfectly well :) I am just tight git - never can throw away anything :)
