Is this air filter ok?
Looks a bit squashed to me will it be ok

I've seen much worse than that, I wouldn't have any issues putting it back in.
The main thing is that it's clean and lets the air flow.

Just one thought: try putting it in the airing cupboard overnight.
Might just be that the material is damp and stretched a bit.
