MWR Racing filters

Post by Flatline »

Thought you all might be interested in these filters

http://racingairfilters.eu/

Tony and myself are in discussion with them, about making filters for the Firestorm

Wilco has come back to us with his ideas about what he can do and is discussing the options with Tony

We will keep you all updated with whats going on

In the meantime, if you can, it may be worth waiting before buying your next airfilter

Regards

Phil

Yep.
Currently the thinking is that they'll want to design a street one, rather than full-on race.

We'll see....

So the development is progressing, and Wilco, from MWR, is gauging potential sales.

He's proposing to make one that fits across the top of the lower airbox, with a plate on, that does away with the top section of the airbox allowing good flow of air around the plate and evenly into both stacks evenly.
This will, hopefully, mean an even flow of air into all types of velocity stacks; whether you have two short, for top end HP, two long, for maximum torque, one long and one short, as standard Honda compromise, or aftermarket stacks.

Her is an example, made for a different bike, but broadly similar:

I'll be assisting with development of the filters, with dyno results for all to see for my own tuned Storm, plus a standard one for comparison purposes.

The aim is for 6-7HP gain over standard, with torque gains across the rev range.
Looking at what MWR have achieved with other bikes they manufacture filters for, that seems very achievable, in my opinion.

Cost is likely to be, but not guaranteed, around the 115-120 euros, plus tax.

So who would be interested in a bolt-on power gain, suitable for tuned and standard engines, which will come with a back-up of dyno info showing what difference it makes?

Form an orderly queue, please.... :D
Just give us an idea of how many people would be interested, and if enough by Monday, development continues.

thanks, Tony.mon

That's why the plastic heat shield at the steering head end is important; it keeps the heat for the engine away from the intake snorkel.

what do you think the gains would be against a k&n filter tony? and i assume that you would need maybe some dyno time to set things up properly?
looks the nuts tho, together with the long trumpets it would look great, how can i get a see thru petrol tank, so i can see that filter
