Oh I don't know about that strange lad. It was a joy to see the youthful English team triumph over a far more experienced team, and away from home!!gilson wrote:I sure did!!! Re: Two old classic from the 80s
Cant figure out how to post an image yet.....dummy. Hope someone gives me a lesson.
Anyway, my bike of the eighties is the RD250LC. So much controversy surrounding this bike at the time.
If I remember rightly, it was actually released in 1979. Its availability to learner riders was defiantly a contribution to the lowering of the learner machines from 250 to 125 in 1981. Thankfully I had passed my test by then. So many lives were being lost on 250cc machines on L plates with no training whatsoever that the DOT was under pressure from the press and public to do something. Of course the RD was not the only bike contributing to this situation, but it was arguably the one with the highest profile amongst many teenagers.
This bike claimed quite a few young lives (one in my social circle plus one amputee). Anyway, it was a bike I always wanted but never had. Example of this two stroke machine go for silly money these days(along with the 350).
What a machine....pure class.....tinged with a lot of sadness for the lives it claimed.

Re: Two old classic from the 80s
blue seat, blue wheels, blue grips, blue screen, blue headlight covers....................that was the 80s'
I used to have a Durex Suzuki Paddock jacket back then, would have went well with Gixer.......but I wore it on my 350LC, so it was covered in oil spots!..........sold it on e-bay about 8yrs ago, got £30 for it back then, bet I could have double that now.
PS why not have the dogs painted blue?
