Cleaning and prep question.

Post by Jester666 »

I'm going to be removing the swingarm to grease all the important bits.

I'm also planning to paint it black.

So the question is...

Whats the best thing to clean it with before I acid etch it for painting?

the easiet thing to do is pay a powder coating firm to blast it clean and then they can apply a lovely satin black powder coat finish, all for £50.......

It may be that your whole purpose in life is simply to serve as a warning to others.

Always clean in diesel as it gets all the grease and oil off, then go over it with gun wash or panel prep to get the diesel off, never had any issues. I'd even do this before powder coating as you can blast dirt into the base metal and it'll look cr@p
