Update

Post by Flatline »

As Tony has said, I get one of these :Dancing3: :Dancing3: :Dancing3: :Dancing3:

Once its in my possession I will take some pictures of the filter for you all to drool over :erection:

Some just laying on the bench, maybe a few outside in the sunshine and I am sure a few other places

Please post your requests for any particular pose

Once I have it I will book some dyno time and get the results posted

My bike is standard apart from high level Remus cans

So we will see whats what

Fingers crossed

the deal was that i would get mine free, but that I would post up the dyno results, to show gains if any, jetting requirements etc.
This would be on my own bike, as most of you know it's far from standard but should still show what gains are to be anticipated.

HOWEVER.....
I have just heard that I will be out of work in three weeks.

This means that I can't really justify (not to the wife, anyway) spending money on dyno and jetting runs, seeing as the mortgage will need paying, etc, etc.
Hopefully back in the realms of the employed before long, but in the meantime:

Is there anyone the Kent/London end of the world who would want to get a free filter, in exchange for paying for the dyno time, and possibly a bit for jetting?

I'd help with getting it fettled, carbs balanced etc before it goes on the dyno, and would recommend using HM Racing in Edenbridge, it's a new dyno and well set up; also the techs know Storms very well.
First off, sorry about your employment situation Tony. We all love our bikes but in truth they are toys for most of us so your decision is perfectly legit and justified.

Now, back to the matter at hand. I have another possible course of action to suggest: Perhaps we could get a few folks to chip in a few quid each (sounding like a true Brit, huh? lol) and essentially raise the money to pay for your dyno time. Personally, I am in if others are willing to participate (could Paypal you the funds). Now, I have to say that I am particularly interested in your (Tony's) results as your engine is modded and so would be more representative of the results I could expect on my own bike (which, as many/most know by now, is quite far removed from stock).

Anyone else in? FWIW, what do you estimate the dyno time would cost Tony?

Thanks in advance for everyone's consideration.

cheers

P.S. Plan C: While it would involve some postage fees, I am willing to take care of the dyno end if you can send me the filter.....

Even his needs are special, according to the assessment....

Really impressed that people want to chip in, thanks for your support.

I'll have a chat with HM Racing to see what costs are likely to be, and report back.

But to be fair all you will get that will be of benefit is power gains over standard, and compared to a K+N; the jetting is specific to the way the bike's set up.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

MWR Benchmark figures

Post by Flatline »

Just come from the dyno, having had the first run to benchmark the bike

My scanning software is not working so cant post the results yet, however its 104bhp and 64 ft.lbs of torque

When I get some money I will take the bike back for a run with the MWR filter in

After that we can start to play around with things
