No they are not 8O
I meet a lot of them through work. There is good and bad in all walks of life!
Good friends of ours are both coppers, he's a sargent she is a PC. Now them for a while before we found out they are coppers. Been firend for nearly 15 years.
I even spent a couple of night shifts riding as an observer in the back of the area car in east london with him. It was very interesting seeing a coppers job from the other side! Unfortunately it's only the knobs that get noticed most of the time!

Sounds like he was a lucky boy, should go get his lottery tickets :D

But a deserted motorway at 2am is a fairly low hazard environment so it is good that the cops saw it the same way.

+ 1 on that last comment.

3 oclock outside a set of school gates, and you've asked for it. 2 am on the M11, lets face it, you're only gonna kill yourself, and thats unlikely, seeing as you can see 2 miles in front of you.

Well done to those coppers

Hi Marty,
Good bit of editing done there mate, when I read the original post I did think there may have been a bit to much info for a public forum.
Your mate was very lucky, the coppers must have been in a good mood...

er, they got me today as well but i managed to get 25 miles today without getting pulled :/

just turned off the m56 toward wales, over the flyover, still on the 70 it & was thinking to myself as i looked at the speedo, no way am i doing a ton. no way is everyone else doing a ton, speedo must be miles out.... when in my mirror i noticed a plod up my butt with blues on, so being a courteous type of rider, i moved over to let him pass.
he pulled in behind me with his siren thingy on :/
first thing i said was oh dear, was i over? i was just questioning my speedo before you pulled me.
he showed me a vid displaying 87, so my speedo is 13% out....
but that's whe i moved over and he turned off the recording :/

he then proceded to show me the rest of the vid, which shows him behind me for half a mile with my speed between 80 & 103mph :/
the 87 was the average.
fortunately for me, the vid clearly showed everyone else in my lane and most in the 2nd lane doing the same speed.
i said when im riding tbh i rarely look at the speedo and am more concerned about my surroundings and other vehicles on the road.
he said well if i was so observant i wouldve noticed him pull out from the sliproad with blues on.
he said if i'd moved over he would've pulled someone else - fair comment.
anyway, happen he was a heddlu biker who happened to out in the car today and gave me a bit of a lecture on obs, which tbh was warranted.
then said lets have a look at your bike then.

no tax disc (though it is taxed) - i didnt think it was actually an offence to not display your tax disc on a bike, but apparently it still is.
he said an arsy cop could've impounded my bike for that.
not happy with my reg plate, though he said he could read it and wasnt going to do me assuming my pnc came back clear.
came back i have 6 points not 9 as i thought, but i was surprised they mentioned firearms etc as that was a long time ago lol.
then he had a look at my cans, said theyre very nice, but have no baffles, even though i showed him the b/s mark and said they came like that and it passed mot etc....
and he wasn't happy that there was some chain lube on my sidewall, or that a rear indicator bulb had gone, though i did hand signal left when he pulled me over..
he asked how he wanted me to deal with this.....
i said a caution would be nice....
i ended up with a few bits of paper lol

and a £30 fixed penalty for the cans.

bit sh1t being pulled like seeing as i was doing same speed as everyone else, but ey. result tbh, he was a decent plod & had it been a wonker could've been a lot worse, ie back in court for 33 over, banned no doubt plus a fine, £60 for reg plate, £60 for grease on the tyre, £60 for the tax disc or impounded, taxi home then pay to get my bike back.
carried on anyway and had a crackin ride but made sure i kept it under 120.
You do not have to say anything. But it may harm your defence if you do not mention when posting something which you later rely on in quote. Anything you do say may be ripped to sh*t.

bitter sweet there benny, as you said it could have been a lot worse, i'll have to tell my friends about the road tax, because we all keep ours in our wallets because the thieving scumbags will have it away......
