You know the ones, 'V-Max' and 'Extreme' and all those extra priced fuels. They claim to give extra power and extra miles per gallon. I figured the latter would be useful on storms and their small tanks. After a number of tries though I found that they gave extra power (or my imagination?) but miles per gallon was noticeably LESS!
Anyone else tried them?
Fancy fuels like V-Max and Extreme?

Yes, I do.
It's not falling off, it's an upgrade opportunity.

I cant notice any difference at all when I put V-power in. Still end up puttting it in before a spirited Sunday ride though

Not a lot of point using the stuff unless you've got a fancy ecu that can adjust to suit it which the storm hasn't....

Or an ignition advancer.....vtrsteve wrote:Not a lot of point using the stuff unless you've got a fancy ecu that can adjust to suit it which the storm hasn't....
Or higher compression, even.

If anything I got less to the gallon so there goes their claim to give extra miles to the tank. Pity, it would have been useful in a Storm.

I use it in the car, but thats quite fancy and is supposed to run on it. The only time it goes in the Storm or my old Kwak is if its been standing for a while, to perk up the fuel thats been standing, may be nonsense but it makes me feel better!
The car does give better mpg and a little more oomph, I cant honestly say I have noticed any difference in the bikes.
